1. Who we are

Janus International is a private-client advisory brand of IPTW, a professional services consultancy specialising in Spanish residency, tax optimisation, and property. Our website is www.iptw.co.uk. For data protection queries, contact us at hello@janusinternational.com.

2. What data we collect

We collect personal data in the following situations:

• Contact form: name, email address, phone number, and your message when you submit an enquiry.
• Spain Readiness Quiz (scorecard): name, email, phone, country of residence, income and asset bands, and other profile details relevant to your situation (property, timeline, family circumstances, and similar), plus the source that referred you to our site. You also provide explicit consent before submitting. Some optional questions (for example around visa eligibility) may touch on more sensitive categories of information; we only collect this with your consent and treat it with extra care.
• Tax Calculator: as you move the sliders, an estimate is calculated in your browser. When you click "See My Exposure," a snapshot of your inputs and a device-linked identifier (see Section 4) may be sent to us, so we can follow up more usefully if you later get in touch. This happens whether or not you go on to submit an enquiry.
• Cookies & analytics: see Section 4 below.

3. How we use your data

• To respond to your enquiry or send you the personalised tax strategy report you requested.
• To assess your Spain readiness, generate an indicative score, and help our team prepare for your consultation.
• To improve our website and understand how visitors interact with our tools (analytics, only on consent).
• If you opt in, to send you occasional marketing updates (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• Any score or category we generate is used to help our team prioritise and prepare, not to make automated decisions about you without human involvement.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use a cookie consent banner on our website. No tracking cookies are set until you click Accept.

• If you Accept: we load Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which uses cookies to collect anonymised information about how you use our site (pages visited, time spent, approximate location). Google may process this data in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• If you Decline: no tracking cookies are set and GA4 is not loaded. A single item is saved to your browser's localStorage to remember your preference so we don't re-ask.
• Strictly necessary: we store your cookie consent choice in localStorage. This is not a cookie and does not track you.
• Device identifier: we also store a randomly generated identifier in your browser's localStorage, independent of the cookie banner choice above. This lets us recognise repeat visits from the same browser across our calculator, quiz, and contact form, so that if you use our tools anonymously and later identify yourself, we can connect that earlier activity to you. It doesn't identify you on its own and isn't shared outside Janus International's own systems.

To withdraw consent, clear your browser's site data for this domain and reload the page. The banner will re-appear.

5. Third-party processors

• Netlify: our website is hosted on Netlify, which processes contact form submissions. Netlify is GDPR-compliant. See Netlify's Privacy Policy.
• Zapier: scorecard and calculator enquiries are forwarded via Zapier webhooks to our internal systems. Zapier processes data in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses. See Zapier's Privacy Policy.
• Our CRM system: enquiry and scorecard data is stored in a customer relationship management platform, so our advisory team can review it and prepare for consultations.
• Google Analytics 4: only loaded on consent (see Section 4).

These providers act on our instructions to help us run our website and manage enquiries, they are not third parties we sell or hand your data to for their own purposes. We do not otherwise share your personal data without your explicit consent, except where required by law.

6. Legal basis for processing

• Contract / pre-contractual steps: processing your enquiry and providing a consultation (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Consent: analytics cookies, scorecard submission, and marketing communications (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw consent at any time.
• Legitimate interests: improving our website and services (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), balanced against your privacy rights.
• Special category / sensitive information: where a quiz question touches on more sensitive information (for example around visa eligibility), we rely on your explicit consent and apply extra care and protection to that information specifically.

7. Data retention

We keep enquiry and scorecard data for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you and manage our client relationship, and no longer than necessary for that purpose, unless we're required to keep it longer by law. You can request deletion at any time. Anonymous calculator activity, before you've given us your name or email, isn't linked to an identifiable person unless you later get in touch through the scorecard or contact form. Analytics data follows Google's standard 14-month retention period.

8. Your rights

Under UK/EU GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request erasure ("right to be forgotten").
• Restrict or object to processing.
• Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format).
• Withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
• Lodge a complaint with the ICO (UK): ico.org.uk, or the data protection authority where you live (for example, Spain's AEPD if you're relocating there).

9. Data security

We use HTTPS across our site and rely on Netlify's infrastructure security. Zapier connections use encrypted HTTPS webhooks. We do not store card or payment details.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of our site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
